In my work I continue to explore how light influences our visual perception and physical orientation towards our surroundings. Through minimal changes a focus can be added or deduced. Light in itself is intangible and needs to be captured and carried through a medium. I try to grasp the essence and transform this towards a new sensibility. My light installations are usually integrated melting together with the space and environment. An attentive eye can discover and experience it to his or her own chosen pace.
The work I made for the Targetti light Award is built up in layers. The symmetrical green square surrounded by complimentary red seeping through the edges draws attention to the eye. Once the work is approached the viewer might attempt to focus. This is not possible since the foils used in the work disperses and refracts the light giving depth but defying a sharp focus. When standing right in front of the work it can engulf the viewer and the floating green square starts to pulsate. It is a meditative piece and to me and exemplifies a means of depicting a source.
