The Targetti Light Art Award is an international competition for under-40 talents which is held every two years. It has been ideated by Targetti to promote the creativity of young artists and to stimulate increasingly profound thought on the bonds between technological innovation and artistic creativity.
The Targetti Light Art Award is a biennial international competition dedicated to young artists who use artificial light as an expressive tool. In ten years more than 4000 emerging talents under 40 – the most part still unknown, not reviewed and not found in galleries – have participated, their works showing that light is a well integrated medium of their expressive language.
The winning works (21 in the first 5 editions) have been selected by a prestigious jury which has included directors of important museums such as the MAK and the Ludwing in Vienna, the MUAR in Moscow, the Pecci in Prato and the MACRO in Rome; art critics of magazines like Il Sole 24 Ore, L’Espresso and The Art Newspaper; professors and directors of institutions such as the California Institute of Arts of Los Angeles and The Royal College of Arts of London; directors of art fairs like ArteFiera Bologna and experienced contemporary art collectors.
In addition to 10.000 € for the first prize, the winning artists have the opportunity to enrich their experience thanks to the cooperation with the specialized technicians working in the R&D Labs of the Company. Their works become part of the Targetti Light Art Collection, are exhibited in museum and galleries and included in its catalogues. The Targetti Light Art Award is an excellent debut for emerging artists and, at the same time, an extraordinary way for the collection to renew itself.
The Targetti Light Art Award for young artists celebrates its tenth anniversary with a tribute to Futurism
